12/28/2023 0 Comments I have lpf and subsonic on ampalso when i first got my memphis amp, he cranked everything full, and the sub was getting distortion so i turned it down and got most of the distortion outta the sub. So I have been trying different way to tune with the DD-1 and the manual tells you to set the LPF all the way up and subsonic all the way down before tuning.Anybody know why even though it says you can set them where you want afterwards So I tried adjusting these with the DD-1 still connected an. Set the maximum volume of the head unit to 80. Ideally, you should only hear pure, smooth bass from the subwoofer and no gaps in the audio signal when listening to music or watching. After you’ve set it, slowly fine-tune and listen to find the best sound. 70 to 80Hz is a general rule for a car stereo sub-low pass filter (LPF) setting. V ( Wattage × Speaker Impedance) Calculate. Step 1: Start by Setting Low-Pass Filter to 70 to 80Hz. but anytime he set mine, it never thumped as much as the way i had it set. Compare and contrast figures against recorded speaker resistance. well so what my dad told me  he has had systems that would make your chest hurt. Besides that, it really comes down to the tuning of. The lowest note played by a piano is 28hz so I wouldn't recommend going to high with the subsonic. Choosing the right low-pass filter frequency is important because it controls how the subwoofer responds to low frequencies and works with the rest of the audio system. Set the subsonic a little higher than I mentioned earlier. Importance of Setting the Low pass filter (LPF) To get the most out of a subwoofer, you have to put on the hat of an audio engineer and set the low-pass filter with skill. When used in concert with other audio processing tools, like a compressor and a limiter, these two functions can help make a sound system truly top-notch. Yea, a good place to start would be 80hz LPF for the sub and 80hz HPF for the doors. i am pretty new to this, my dad's friend is good at this sorta stuff. Using the LPF and Subsonic functions on an AMP can greatly improve audio quality, while also helping to protect speakers from potential damage. but to me it seems like the amp is letting through frequencies it shouldn't be but i'm not sure. i'm pretty sure the sub isn't blowen, when you push it in, it doesn't make any noise, doen't smell funny, but it has been gettin some distortion. if you must have one, just look for a 2 channel active crossover that has a HPF that is able to go that low. now my stereo sounds good but it just doesnt feel right as ive set the lpf and hpf on the head unit and the amp and. and at the front just some pioneer tweeters running off the front channel on the head unit. its either built into your amp, is a feature on a head unit, is done with a dsp, or an active crossover. and at the back ive got jbl cs 60.4 4 channel bridged running my 6×9 stereo and jbl gto 75.2 bridged running a pioneer sub in mono. i'm not sure about the low-pass filter for the non-fading sub output. 4) you cant really buy a subsonic filter. i have a sealed box, and the subsonic filter is off. Ok right now i'm sick and dizzy, so bare with me, but the LPF is almost as low as it can be set on the amp, the gain is about 3/4 full.
